Young Thug Prosecutors Attempt to Block Defense Attorneys From Speaking to Media

The prosecution in the YSL RICO case is trying to stop defense attorneys from speaking to the media as the attorney for Young Thug co-defendant Yak Gotti filed a new motion for a mistrial. “We had really no choice,” Doug Weinstein said to Law&Crime’s Linda Kenny Baden.

Young Thug faces nearly a dozen charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, participation in criminal street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act. The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.
