There was more widespread reaction Monday to Elon Musk’s weekend email to federal workers demanding a response on what they accomplished last week. Several federal agencies instructed staff to “pause” any responses to the email. Federal employees have since sued Musk, who was tapped by President Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

President Donald Trump announced that Dan Bongino will serve as the next deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

“Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Sunday night. “Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI, by the man who will be the best ever Director, Kash Patel.”

On Monday, a federal judge declined to restore the Associated Press’ access to events at the White House. However, U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden urged the Trump administration to reconsider its two-week-old ban on the outlet. The White House recently barred the AP over continuing to refer to the Gulf of Mexico, not simply the “Gulf of America” as Trump decreed in an executive order.
