Donald Trump decided that he would add insult to injury for federal workers that are terrified of losing their jobs as part of his mass layoffs by sharing a meme of Spongebob Squarepants on Truth Social. The meme was meant to mock the workers who received Elon Musk’s message that demanded they turn in a list of everything they accomplished that week, and the meme showed a list showing things like “cried about Trump” and “cried about Elon.” Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Donald Trump announced a few days ago, which was then reaffirmed by Elon Musk, which was then re reaffirmed by the Office of Personnel Management in a memo sent to all government departments that federal workers would be required to submit by midday this past Monday, a list of at least five things they accomplished in the last week alone, right? Five days, you got five days in a work week, you should have been able to do five verifiable things. Now I have more coming up on that, uh, later on in a different segment. But Donald Trump decided to go ahead and, uh, mock the federal employees who were terrified of losing their jobs because they may not have five things to put on their list that they accomplished in the last five days because Elon Musk said that any federal worker that does not submit this, uh, list, of course they would be taking that as their official resignation.
So submit a list of at least five things, or you’re fired from your career, civil service job. And again, Trump decided to mock these people. He got on truth social and shared a meme that may have even been created by Elon Musk because I don’t think Trump knows how to do it, but it was a meme that had been reworked. A picture of SpongeBob Squarepants looking at a list of things he’s accomplished in the last week, except for it wasn’t the list shown in the Nickelodeon cartoon. Instead, it was a list that said things like cried about Trump, cried about Elon, made it into the office for once and of course, read some emails.
These are federal workers, some of whom have been at the agencies for 20, 30 years. These are careers, career, excuse me, civil servants going into work every day doing their job, keeping our government, and therefore our country running. That is what these people do. Doesn’t matter which government agency it is, whether it’s the Defense Department, the State Department, the FDA, the EPA, hud, you name it, the education Department. All of these places filled with people who keep our country running by doing their jobs every day. And Trump is mocking them because they’re afraid they’re going to lose their jobs, right? Oh, you cried about Trump. That’s a thing you did. You cried about Elon. That’s a thing you did. We are headed towards a recession. That is, of course, according to economists, these mass layoffs that the Trump administration is engaging in. And that, of course, a federal judge has said, yeah, you can go ahead and keep doing it. Uh, all economists, not necessarily all, but all the
Credible ones right now are telling us this is gonna put us in a recession, okay? When you suddenly have hundreds of thousands of federal workers without jobs, not just in dc but keep in mind, there’s federal buildings all across the country, everywhere. And those people are also losing their jobs and local economies. Even those run by Republicans, Republican mayors, Republican city councils, they’re sounding the alarm bells about what the mass layoffs are gonna do for them. ’cause they know it’s gonna be horrible for their local economies. So Trump is tanking the economy. Economists say this, mass unemployment could lead us to a very sudden recession, and Trump’s response is to mock the people who are afraid of being fired. We don’t have a president of the United States. We have two megalomaniacs who are stuck in arrested development with the mentality of a 12-year-old boy running the country right now. Elon Musk and Donald
