‘No place’ for violence: Joe Biden calls for ‘unity’ following Trump assassination attempt

US President Joe Biden has held a press conference following meetings with FBI and Secret Service officials.

He confirmed he had spoken to former president Donald Trump and was glad he was doing well following a failed assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania.

“There is no place in America for this kind of violence or any violence for that matter,” President Biden said.

The President urged the public not to make assumptions about the shooter’s motives or affiliations.
