In a now-circulating clip on social media, Sen. Risa Hontiveros is seen visibly frustrated, lowering her head out of view during Senate proceedings, but without context.
That five-second emerging meme — now used as a reaction for manic Mondays, or for any sort of exasperation — came from the September 9 hearing of a Senate panel investigating Alice Guo’s escape from the Philippines and her alleged links to illegal POGOs.
Hontiveros was asking Guo whether she knows Atty. Elmer Galicia, the lawyer who notarized her counter-affidavit in August, but instead of answering “yes” or “no,” she invoked her right against self-incrimination.
When prompted again to answer, Guo instead told Hontiveros that she prefers to consult her legal counsel first, eliciting the now-viral reaction from the senator.
