Donald Trump ‘pulled back’ from international role as Republican president

Former Republican White House aide Frank Lavin outlines his areas of “concern” with the current day Republican Party.

This comes as day three of the Republican National Convention is underway in Milwaukee.

“Republicans historically had been the responsible internationalists – respecting treaty relationships, respecting the alliances, promoting trade,” Mr Lavin told Sky News Australia.

“Trump has really pulled back from that traditional international role, and I think there is a potential risk in that shift.”
