PUTINS KRIEG: Angriff aus Belarus? Geheimdienste beobachten Aufmarsch an ukrainischer Grenze

Die Ukraine hat dem mit Russland verbündeten Nachbarland Belarus vorgeworfen, Truppen an der Grenze zur Ukraine zusammenzuziehen. Das Außenministerium in Kiew teilte am Sonntag mit, ukrainische

Geheimdienste hätten beobachtet, dass Belarus “unter dem Deckmantel von Übungen eine erhebliche Zahl von Kräften in der Region Gomel in der Nähe der ukrainischen Grenze zusammengezogen hat”. 

Kiew warnte Belarus davor, unter dem Druck Russlands “tragische Fehler” zu begehen. Die belarussische Armee müsse ihre “unfreundlichen Akte” einstellen. Das Außenministerium forderte die belarussischen Streitkräfte auf, ihre Truppen von der Grenze abzuziehen und einen Abstand zur ukrainischen Grenze einzunehmen, der größer sei als die Reichweite der belarussischen Raketensysteme.

Kiew erklärte zudem, es habe die Anwesenheit von Kämpfern der russischen Söldnergruppe Wagner festgestellt, von denen einige nach dem gescheiterten Aufstand ihres Chefs Jewgeni Prigoschin in Russland im Juni 2023 von Belarus aufgenommen worden waren. 

Die Ukraine warnte, Militärübungen im Grenzgebiet stellten wegen der Nähe des Atomkraftwerks Tschernobyl eine Gefahr für die “weltweite Sicherheit” dar. 

“Wir betonen, dass die Ukraine niemals feindliche Aktionen gegen das belarussische Volk unternommen hat oder unternehmen wird”, fügte das Außenministerium in Kiew hinzu. 

Die Erklärung des Außenministeriums erfolgte vor dem Hintergrund der ukrainischen Offensive in der russischen Grenzregion Kursk. Seit dem 6. August vermeldete die Ukraine dort beträchtliche Geländegewinne. Gleichzeitig rückt Russland im Osten der Ukraine weiter vor. 

Der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj sagte am Sonntagabend mit Verweis auf ein Gespräch mit dem Oberbefehlshaber Oleksandr Syrskyj, die ukrainischen Truppen seien in der Region Kursk weiter vorgerückt. “Um einen bis drei Kilometer. Wir haben die Kontrolle über zwei weitere Dörfer übernommen”, sagte Selenskyj in seiner abendlichen Botschaft. In einem anderen Dorf seien “Kämpfe im Gange”. 

Der belarussische Machthaber Alexander Lukaschenko ist ein enger Verbündeter und Unterstützer von Russlands Präsident Wladimir Putin. Sein Land ist politisch und wirtschaftlich von Russland abhängig.

Die EU wirft Belarus unter anderem vor, sein Territorium als Aufmarschgebiet für russische Truppen zur Verfügung zu stellen. Vor dem Beginn des russischen Angriffskriegs gegen die Ukraine im Februar 2022 hatte Russland unter dem Deckmantel eines Manövers große Truppenverbände auf belarussischem Gebiet nahe der ukrainischen Grenze zusammengezogen.
