কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলনরত শিক্ষার্থীদের ৯ দফা দাবির সঙ্গে সংহতি প্রকাশ করে বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশ করেছে বৃহত্তর চলচ্চিত্র, আলোকচিত্র, থিয়েটার, গণমাধ্যমসহ দৃশ্যমাধ্যমের নানা শাখার মানুষেরা। ‘দৃশ্যমাধ্যম শিল্পীসমাজ’-এর ব্যানারে দেশে হত্যা-সহিংসতা-গণগ্রেপ্তার-হয়রানির প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছেন তাঁরা।
বৃহস্পতিবার (১ আগস্ট) রাজধানীর ফার্মগেটে বৃষ্টি উপেক্ষা করে বেশ কিছু দাবি নিয়ে রাস্তায় নামেন শিল্পীরা। ‘ভয়হীন-ন্যায্য-মানবিক মর্যাদার বাংলাদেশ চাই’, ‘সব হত্যাকাণ্ডের বিচার করো’, ‘হত্যা-সহিংসতা-গণগ্রেপ্তার-হয়রানি বন্ধ কর’ স্লোগান দেন তাঁরা। এ সময় আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীরও ব্যাপক উপস্থিতি লক্ষ্য করা গেছে।
