Der Attentäter von Solingen tötete gezielt drei Menschen mit einem Messer und verletzte weitere. Der mutmaßliche Täter, ein 26-jähriger Syrer, war möglicherweise ein Anhänger des “Islamischen Staats”.

Als Konsequenz aus der tödlichen Messerattacke von Solingen hat sich die Bundesregierung auf Maßnahmen zum Schutz vor islamistischem Terror, gegen irreguläre Migration und zur Verschärfung des Waffenrechts verständigt. Bundesinnenministerin Nancy Faeser (SPD) sprach bei der Vorstellung von “weitreichenden” und “harten Maßnahmen”.

Nach der Tat von Solingen werfen auch die Umstände der gescheiterten Abschiebung des Syrers Fragen auf. Der Mann hatte 2023 abgeschoben werden sollen, wurde aber von den Behörden nicht angetroffen. Nach Ablauf einer Frist zur Überstellung nach Bulgarien wurde ihm Schutz gewährt. Reul warnte in einer gemeinsamen Sitzung von Innen- und Integrationsausschuss mit Blick auf Konsequenzen vor “Schnellschussantworten” und mahnte eine “sachliche Debatte” an.
