파리올림픽에 출전한 북한 선수단 일부가 평양에서 사상검열을 받고 있는 것으로 전해졌습니다.

남한 선수단과 함께 ‘셀카’를 찍은 게 문제가 됐는데, 북한 내부에서는 이들에 대한 처벌 가능성이 점쳐지고 있습니다.

데일리NK는 파리 올림픽에 참가했던 북한 올림픽위원회 대표단과 선수단이 지난 15일 귀국 이후 평양에서 사상 총화(평가)를 받고 있다고 21일 보도했습니다.

북한은 국제 대회에 다녀온 선수단을 대상으로 중앙당, 체육성, 자체 총화 등 세 단계에 걸쳐 약 한 달간 사상 총화를 진행합니다.

이런 사상 총화를 하는 이유는 북한이 해외 체류 자체를 비사회주의 문화를 접하는, 오염 노출 행위로 간주하기 때문이라고 데일리NK는 전했습니다.

북한 선수들은 이번 올림픽에 출전하기 전 “한국 선수를 비롯한 외국 선수들과 접촉하지 말라”는 특별 지시를 받았다고 하는데, 이를 위반한 사실이 어떤 경로로든 확인되면 처벌 대상이 될 것으로 보입니다.

이런 가운데 한국 및 중국 선수들과 ‘셀카’를 촬영해 이목을 끌었던 탁구 혼성 복식 은메달리스트 리정식, 김금용 선수에 대해서는 부정적 평가 내용이 담긴 보고서가 제출된 것으로 전해졌습니다.

보고서에는 “당국이 제1적대국으로 규정한 한국 선수들이 바로 옆에 있는데, ‘히죽히죽’ 웃음 띤 모습을 보였다”는 내용이 담긴 것으로 알려졌습니다.

데일리NK는 “실제 북한 당국이 셀카를 찍은 선수들에게 처벌을 내릴지 아니면 경고나 자기반성 등 비교적 가벼운 비판으로 사안을 마무리 지을지는 더 두고 봐야 한다”고 전했습니다.

Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, American-Israeli parents whose son Hersh was abducted by Hamas from a music festival during the attack on Oct. 7, spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday.
Rachel told a hushed crowd inside United Center that Hersh’s left forearm was blown off by a grenade in the attack before Hamas loaded him onto a pick-up truck, “stolen from his life – and me and Jon – in Gaza.”
“Since then, we’ve lived on another planet,” she said. “Anyone who is a parent or has had a parent can try to imagine the anguish and misery that Jon and I and all the hostage families are enduring.”
Both parents each wore a piece of tape with “320” written on it, marking the number of days he has been in captivity. Jon said that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are “both working tirelessly for a hostage and cease-fire deal.” The parents called for the release of the remaining hostages and a stop to the suffering inflicted onto the innocent civilians in Gaza.
“There’s a surplus of agony on all sides of the tragic conflict in the Middle East,” Jon said of the loss of life among Israelis and Palestinians. “In the competition of pain, there are no winners.”
